This is NOT a Hummel ornament! It is a reproduction of the Berta Hummel figurine, "Hark the Herald." It seems to be porcelain, and is impressed with SCHMID on the rear base (photo #10).
The underside of the base has the Schmid trademark stamped, as well as "1983 First Edition" and a reproduction statement arc (photo #7).
There is a metal loop at the top of his head (photo #12), with metalic cording to hook onto an ornament hanger (not included). It was probably intended to be hung on a Christmas Tree.
The original box has damage (scraped paper) on one side (photo #5). The total length is about 1 3/4", with a 3/8" section and a 1 1/4" section.
There are two "dents" on the opposite side (photo #4). As far as I can tell, the box did not get punctured from the denting. None of the flaps are ripped, and it is otherwise in pretty good condition.
The inside packaging is molded styrofoam (photos #2 & 6).
I see no cracks, chips, or crazing. No repairs to it. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Please inspect all photos carefully. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.
A few actual Hummel figures are also listed, as well as some Hallmark Christmas ornmaments. Will combine shipping if more than one auction is won.
Thanks for looking!
